Ranger College Women’s Soccer Dominates Road Stretch with Three Straight Shutouts
Ranger, TX – The Ranger College women's soccer team enjoyed a flawless week on the road, recording three decisive shutout victories over Jacksonville College, Pratt Community College, and Coffeyville Community College. The Rangers outscored their opponents 12–0 across the three matches, with a balanced attack and a back line that never wavered.
August 26 – Ranger 5, Jacksonville College 0
The Rangers opened the week in commanding fashion with a 5–0 win at Jacksonville. Goals poured in during the first half, with Alba Mendez Garcia, Naileth Rangel, Mia Gregory (assist from Meriem De La Iglesia), De La Iglesia herself, and Laura Ruiz (assist from Abril Baronat) all finding the net.
Goalkeeper Penelope Charrion anchored the clean sheet with three saves, while Ranger's defense held Jacksonville scoreless throughout.
August 29 – Ranger 5, Pratt Community College 0
Ranger followed up with another five-goal performance, blanking Pratt 5–0. Katalina Medina led the way with two goals, including the opener assisted by Laura Ruiz and a second-half strike unassisted.
Additional goals came from Clara Luque (assist from Sara Cervantes), Giovanna Mingo (assist from Medina), and Ruiz (assist from Alba Mendez Garcia). Charrion didn't face a shot on goal as the Rangers controlled every phase of the game.
August 30 – Ranger 2, Coffeyville Community College 0
The week concluded with a disciplined 2–0 victory at Coffeyville. Nuria Alejo converted a penalty kick in the 25th minute, and Lucia Rodriguez added a goal in the 38th minute off an assist from Medina.
Charrion posted her third consecutive shutout, needing no saves as the Ranger defense limited Coffeyville to a single shot on target.
Looking Ahead
With three straight shutouts and 12 goals from eight different scorers, the Rangers demonstrated both depth and cohesion. Standout offensive contributions came from Medina (three goals, two assists) and Ruiz (two goals, two assists), while Charrion and the back line kept opponents frustrated.
Ranger College will look to build on its unbeaten run as nonconference play continues this week. The ladies will play at Dallas College Eastfield on September 3 at 7:00pm, and at Dallas College North Lake on September 5 at 4:00pm.
