Nakito Finishes 13th at NJCAA National Championships, Earns First Team All-American Honors
FORT DODGE, Iowa — November 8, 2025 — The Ranger College women's cross country team capped its 2025 season with a standout performance at the NJCAA National Championships in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Freshman Elizabeth Nakito led the Lady Rangers with a 13th-place national finish, running 18:58.1 to earn NJCAA First Team All-American honors — one of the highest distinctions in junior college cross country.
Competing With the Nation's Best
Nakito's performance placed her among the elite runners in the nation, finishing behind national champion Mildred Rono of Hutchinson Community College, who won the race in 17:11.1. Nakito's top-15 finish marks one of the greatest individual achievements in program history and highlights her emergence as one of the premier freshmen in NJCAA Division I.
Rangers Deliver Strong Team Effort
Ranger's depth was on full display as three additional runners put together strong national-level performances:
- Victaline Mutai — 21st place, 19:16.7
- Alyssa Mabry — 42nd place, 20:04.4
- Macie Morales — 94th place, 21:26.7
With two runners in the top 25 and another inside the top 50, the Lady Rangers demonstrated consistency and competitive grit throughout their lineup.
Coach's Take

"Elizabeth earning First Team All-American as a freshman is incredible, but what means even more is how the entire team stepped up today. Victaline, Alyssa, and Macie ran with heart, and this group represented Ranger College with pride."
