Lady Rangers Post Top-10 Finish at Old Glory Gallop; Multiple PRs Highlight Day
FORT WORTH, Texas — October 11, 2025 — The Ranger College women's cross country team had an impressive showing at the Old Glory Gallop, hosted by Dallas Baptist University, posting a top-10 finish out of 40 teams in a loaded field of junior college, NAIA and NCAA programs. The day featured a near-win by freshman standout Elizabeth Nakito and a wave of personal bests throughout the roster.
Nakito Leads the Charge
Elizabeth Nakito raced in the lead pack for nearly the full 5K, only to be overtaken at the line by Texas State University's Alezia Macias. Despite the close finish, Nakito's performance was among the best in program history and set the tone for the rest of the Lady Rangers' scoring pack. The official results confirm her front-running effort.
Depth Makes the Difference
Behind Nakito, several Lady Rangers achieved new personal records:
- Freshman Victaline Mutai placed 24th with a PR time.
- Sophomore Stellah Lagat came in 25th, also with a personal best.
- Sophomores Alyssa Mabry and Macie Morales likewise recorded personal best times, contributing to the team's pack scoring and overall success.
Big Picture
With a top-10 team finish and multiple PRs among the scorers, the Lady Rangers demonstrated both talent and depth. The strong outing in a competitive invitational will provide momentum as the program moves toward championship meets and the postseason.
Coach's Thoughts
"Today's performance was exceptional," said Coach James Majenge, "The ladies put up a big fight as a team, and I'm really proud of them. A top ten finish against a field of that caliber is insane! We concluded our regular season on a high note, and I hope they keep the momentum going so we can defend our conference title. That would also give us a shot for a top three finish at the regional meet."
