Lady Rangers off to fast start to 2024
Ranger College head coach Nicole Smith has taken a simple approach to her young squad from Day 1. If you think you can, you can.
The Lady Rangers are proving they can.
Ranger College has powered its way to an start over the first two weeks of the 2024 season, including reeling off seven six straight wins prior to facing off with nationally-ranked Trinity Valley Community College on Sept. 4 in the Ron Butler Gym. Even the loss to TVCC was a positive – allowing the team to get its feet wet against one of the nation's elites.
Triniti Valley came into the showdown ranked No. 8 in the latest NJCAA Division I volleyball rankings.
How good have the RC women been? Consider this: Only two of their nine matches, only two have gone five sets. Other than the loss to TVCC, the farthest anyone has posed the Lady Rangers came on Aug. 30 when Western Texas College forced their way to five sets before losing.
Ranger College will return to action on Friday when they face off with Midland College. The game will be played at 1 p.m. in the Ron Butler Gym in Ranger.
