Ranger Women's Track & Field Post Solid Performances at Owen Hewett Invitational

NORMAN, Oklahoma — January 16, 2026 — The Ranger College women's track & field team opened the indoor season with several strong performances at the Owen Hewett Invitational, competing against a deep field of athletes on Friday.

Strong Individual Results

  • Sophomore Ki'Sha Tyner placed 9th in the Women's 60 Meters Open Finals, clocking a time of 8.07.

  • Freshman Junell Laing turned in an impressive showing in the Women's 400 Meters Open, finishing 4th with a time of 1:05.84.

  • Sophomore Apryl Adderley earned a 9th-place finish in the Women's Long Jump Open with a mark of 5.33 meters (17'6"). Adderley also added a 5th-place finish in the Women's Triple Jump, posting a mark of 11.16 meters (36'7.5"). Both jumps set a new college record.

The meet provided valuable early-season competition as the Rangers continue to build momentum heading deeper into the indoor schedule.

Coach's Take

"We saw a lot of positive things to start the year," said De'Torrian Green, head coach of Ranger College women's track & field. "This was a good opening meet for us to see where we are competitively. The athletes executed well, and there's a lot of room for growth as we continue to train and sharpen up over the next few weeks."

Ranger College will return to action at the Washburn Open, scheduled for January 30–31 in Topeka, Kansas.
