Ranger College Women’s Soccer Rolls Past Dallas College Eastfield, 5–1

MESQUITE, Texas — September 3, 2025 — The Ranger College women's soccer team earned a decisive 5–1 road victory over Dallas College Eastfield on Wednesday evening, powered by a balanced attack and standout individual performances.

The Rangers bounced back quickly after conceding an opening-minute goal to the Lady Harvesters. Eastfield struck first in the opening seconds, but Ranger College responded with composure and relentless pressure, scoring five unanswered goals to secure the win.

First Half Momentum

Sophomore forward Alba Mendez Garcia led the charge, scoring twice in the opening 20 minutes. Her first strike came in the 10th minute off an assist from Katalina Medina, followed by a 20th-minute finish set up by Meriem De La Iglesia.

In the 35th minute, Sofia Valdivia added an unassisted goal, giving Ranger College a commanding 3–1 lead at halftime.

Second Half Control

The Rangers continued to dominate possession in the second half. Flavia Castro extended the lead in the 65th minute, finishing off a feed from Mendez Garcia, who tallied her third point of the night.

Closing out the scoring, Sofia Moreno Sabater struck in the 80th minute with an assist from Clara Luque, sealing the 5–1 victory.

Defensive Standouts

Goalkeeper Penelope Charrion anchored the defense, recording two saves and holding Eastfield scoreless after the opening minute. Ranger defenders Karla James, Sara Cervantes, and De La Iglesia controlled the back line, limiting Eastfield's chances.

With the win, Ranger College improves its early-season record and continues building momentum. The Rangers return to action on Friday September 5 as they play Dallas College North Lake at 4:00pm.
