Ranger College Track & Field Reign Continues
LUBBOCK, Texas — The Ranger College Track and Field team continued to show peak performance at the Texas Tech Masked Rider Open on April 3, 2025.
Khanya Yali ran a national qualifying time and set a lifetime best of 3 minutes, 57.84 seconds in the 1,500 meters at the Texas Tech Masked Rider meet. His performance ranks as the second-fastest time in school history.
Due to altitude conversion, Yali's time was adjusted to 3:55.00, placing him 10th on the national qualifying list.
Victaline Mutai also delivered a standout performance, earning national qualifying marks in both the 1,500 and 5,000 meters. She set two new school records in the process:

5,000 meters: 18:03.34 (adjusted to 17:48.72 due to altitude)

1,500 meters: 4:46.10 (adjusted to 4:43.01)
Alyssa Mabry achieved a major milestone by breaking the five-minute barrier for the first time. She ran a personal best of 4:56.55, which converted to 4:53.01 with altitude adjustment.
