Modingwane Finishes 14th at NJCAA National Championships, Earns First Team All-American Honors
FORT DODGE, Iowa — November 8, 2025 — Ranger College freshman Amantle Modingwane capped a historic season with a standout performance at the NJCAA National Championships, finishing 14th overall with a time of 25:53.6 in the 8K race. His top-15 finish earned him NJCAA First Team All-American recognition — one of the highest honors in junior college cross country.
Among the Nation's Elite
Modingwane crossed the line less than a minute behind national champion Cornelius Kogo of Hutchinson Community College, who won in 24:54.7. Competing against the strongest field of the season and braving cold, windy race conditions, Modingwane delivered yet another elite performance befitting his breakout freshman year.
A Breakout Season
The championship finish adds to a long list of accolades for the Botswana native, who earlier this fall won the Region V individual title, broke the school 8K record with a 23:58.2, and earned multiple meet victories while leading Ranger College's men's cross country program to one of its most successful seasons ever.
Coach's Take
"Amantle has been phenomenal all year," said Coach James Majenge. "He's shown maturity, toughness, and the ability to compete at an elite level. Finishing 14th in the nation as a freshman — and earning First Team All-American — is a huge accomplishment and sets the tone for our program moving forward."
