Rangers run to fifth at MSU Mustang Derby

The Ranger College men's cross country team had a strong showing this past weekend at the MSU Mustang Derby

"We were missing three of our top guys, and that kind of affected our overall place, but I'm happy with our freshman guys who showed up," said RC head coach James Majenga.

 Leading the charge was freshman Khanya Yali from South Africa, who finished in third-place with a time of 19 minutes, 10 seconds on the 6-kilometer course. Coming in 12th was James Evetts, a freshman from Brownwood, Texas.

The Rangers' performance helped the team finish fifth out of eight schools.

The next meet will be DBU OLD GLORY Oct.5 in Dallas.
