Late 3 lifts RC past Temple

Jorell Saterfield buried a three-point bomb with 7.1 seconds remaining in regulation on Saturday evening and spurred the Ranger College men's basketball team to a wild 97-95 come-from-behind win on the road.

Saterfield's three-pointer capped a late run by the Rangers that erased a 13-point Temple lead over the final 10 minutes of play.

Temple College, led by point guard Tyler Watkins and the perimeter shooting of Brandon Monroe, owned the final minutes of the first half. Monroe buried four three-point bombs in a crucial stretch and led Temple into the half with an 11-point lead, at 57-46.

Keisei Tominaga got the RC offense going in the second. He and guard Jordan Hayes both pushed home clutch shots midway through the second half and helped Ranger fight its way back to take a 94-93 lead with less than 2 minutes to play.

Temple reclaimed the lead the from, going up 95-94 with less than 24 seconds left.

Saterfield gave Ranger the win seconds later, taking a pass on the right wing and draining a long-range shot.

Tominaga led all Ranger scorers with 26 points, including 21 via seven three-pointers.

With the victory, Ranger College moved into third-place in the NTJCAC standings with a 5-2 record. Overall, Ranger is 7-3 heading into Monday's home showdown with Weatherford.

The matchup with Weatherford will tip-off at 3 p.m. in the Ron Butler Gymnasium.
