Ranger, TX — March 25, 2026 — Ranger College baseball split a high-scoring home doubleheader against Vernon College on Wednesday, earning a dramatic 11–9 walk-off win in Game 1 before falling 24–18 in Game 2.
Game 1 – Walk-Off Thriller
The Rangers delivered late-game heroics in the opener, rallying from a 9–8 deficit in the seventh inning. Ashton Fisher provided the decisive moment, blasting a three-run walk-off home run to cap a five-run inning and secure the 11–9 victory.
Fisher finished 3-for-4 with four RBIs, while Joey Rodriguez added two hits. On the mound, Caleb Calvert earned the win with 2.2 scoreless innings in relief.
Game 2 – Offensive Shootout
Game 2 turned into an offensive battle, with both teams combining for 42 runs. Ranger matched Vernon early, but a pair of big innings allowed Vernon to pull away for a 24–18 win.
