Ranger College Men’s Golf Team Finishes Season 18th at NJCAA National Championship
NEWTON, Kansas — The Ranger College men's golf team capped off a strong season with an 18th-place finish at the NJCAA National Golf Championship held last week in Newton, Kansas. Facing off against the top junior college programs in the country, the Rangers showcased skill, resilience and teamwork on the national stage, proudly representing both the college and their community.
Round 1 Recap:
Enzo Rousse led the Rangers with a 3-under-par 72, carding birdies on holes 2, 6, 14 and 15. Terence Rafferty shot 2-over par, highlighted by birdies on holes 8 and 11 and an eagle on hole 16. Taylor Coleman finished the round 7-over par, and Reece Harris posted a 13-over-par score.
Round 2 Recap:
Rafferty shot 1-over par, recording birdies on holes 2 and 4. Rousse finished 3-over par with birdies on holes 5 and 8. Harris birdied holes 1 and 9 and carded a 7-over-par round. Coleman finished 9-over par with a birdie on hole 15.
Round 3 Recap:
Rousse again led the team, shooting a 1-under-par 72 with birdies on holes 4, 9, 12 and 17. Coleman finished 1-over par with a birdie on hole 14. Rafferty posted 5-over par, with birdies on holes 7 and 12. Harris finished 7-over par and birdied hole 11.
Round 4 Recap:
Finlay Bell led the Rangers in the final round with a 1-over-par 73, highlighted by birdies on holes 2 and 3 and an eagle on hole 10. Rousse shot 5-over par with birdies on holes 3 and 4. Coleman and Harris both finished 6-over par, with Coleman birdying holes 4, 10 and 11, and Harris birdying hole 2.
The Rangers posted team scores of 19-over in Round 1, 20-over in Round 2, 12-over in Round 3 and 18-over in Round 4. Entering the tournament ranked No. 21 nationally, Ranger College climbed to finish 18th overall by the end of the event.
"I'm very proud of our men's golf team," said Ranger College Athletic Director Scott Norwood. "They went out there, played hard and finished nationally ranked."
